CASE 9: Normal lumbar spine

The vertebral bodies have no bony "spurs", or syndesmophytes. Find the facet joints on the AP view. These are open and normal. The sacroiliac joints should always be observed on the AP view. These are also normal. On the lateral view, notice that there is normal anterior concavity of the vertebral bodies, and that there are no wispy connections anteriorly between the vertebral bodies.
