About IRP
 About Indiana Radiology Partners Minimize

Indiana Radiology Partners, Inc. (IRP), combines unparalleled strengths in clinical practice, innovation, technology, research and academics offering patients access to care and service second to none. IRP was formed in July 2003, represents specialized radiologists from Indiana University Radiology Associates (IURA) and the former group of Radiologic Specialists of Indiana (RSI). The combined practice is affiliated with Clarian Health Partners.

The founding groups have a long-standing tradition of service and expertise to patients and physicians of Indiana. IURA traces its beginnings to 1975 when it was established to provide care to patients at Indiana University Hospital, Riley Hospital, Wishard Hospital and the Roudebush VA Medical Center. RSI was founded in 1969 to provide professional radiology service to Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis.

The IRP parent companies and the hospitals they serve have long been leaders in the field of radiology. Methodist Hospital, Indiana University Hospital and Riley Hospital have often been the first in Indiana - and in many cases, among the first in the United States - to begin using new radiology modalities and technologies. For each new advancement made, both groups have been committed to training and employing sub-specialists who are experts in the new technologies.

It is the mission of Indiana Radiology Partners to provide patient-focused care with high-quality imaging and interpretation services.

Specialization

IRP is one of the largest radiology practices in the nation with more than 85 physicians and expertise in more than a dozen sub-specialties. Indiana Radiology Partners offers a highly skilled group of radiologists certified by the American Board of Radiology and nuclear medicine physicians who are certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine. Several IRP physicians are members of the Department of Radiology and faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine.

IRP physicians provide an outstanding level of expertise, knowledge and diversified professional skills. Areas of specialization include:

Education and Research

The physicians of IRP staff one of the nation's largest Diagnostic Radiology Residency Programs at the Indiana University School of Medicine with over 60 residency positions. The program utilizes the strength of the faculty and several training environments, including the state's largest community hospital, a university hospital, children's hospital, Veteran's Administration hospital, community hospitals and several outreach facilities. The Fellowship Program includes more than 25 positions in the major radiological subspecialties. The size and breadth of these programs provide unparalleled opportunities for research and innovation in radiology education for both residents and fellows.

IRP physicians practice in a unique clinical environment. They are sub-specialized and use state-of-the-art equipment. In addition, on a daily basis, IRP physicians interact with referring physicians who are clinical and research leaders in their fields. This interaction places IRP physicians in an environment where current, specialized clinical practices are the norm. This environment translates into state-of-the-art clinical radiology for IRP patients.
