The Radiology Core Clerkship is offered throughout the academic year, except in December and May.  Approximately 25-28 students are assigned to Radiology each month. Students receive a loaner copy of Essential Radiology ( second edition) by Dr. Richard Gunderman.  This text constitutes the core curriculum of the clerkship, and students should read it in its entirety, including the preface, during the month.  At approximately 350 pages in length, this would require reading 15-20 pages per day.  Approximately 30% of the final examination questions are drawn specifically from this text, and more importantly, it provides a relatively concise overview of the field of radiology and the role it plays in the daily practice of medicine.
