 Head and Neck Imaging Fellowship

Head & Neck Imaging and Head & Neck Oncologic Imaging is a newly developed program in response to the growing recognition and demand for expertise in advanced subspecialty imaging. Significant advances in the field of Otorhinolaryngology and head and neck oncology now require radiologists with dedicated subspecialty training. This subspecialty fellowship is conducted in the Neuroradiology section of the Radiology Department. The Neuroradiology section is composed of several fellowship-trained neuroradiologists who are Senior Members in the American Society of Neuroradiology. Our faculty members have extensive experience in neurointerventional techniques, pediatric neuroradiology, head and neck radiology, and functional neuroimaging. We offer one year fellowship positions.

The strength of the Head & Neck fellowship is a large and diverse clinical caseload. The medical center cares for many patients from the Indianapolis area, and also serves as a tertiary referral center for all of Indiana. The fellow will not only work with the neuroradiologists, but also work with faculty clinicians from other specialties including Otolaryngology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery.

The fellow will gain substantial experience in rotations through each of the five hospitals. Cases are also read from outside community hospitals and outpatient imaging centers via teleradiology. This assures a broad exposure to many disease processes as well as different types of imaging technologies.

Research is strongly encouraged, with at least one publishable research endeavor required for each resident.  These projects are presented at the annual Campbell-Klatte lecture series.

In summary, our program offers a great opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of pathologies. Our equipment is state-of-the art and we emphasize teaching and research.

Requisites:

Candidates should have completed radiology residency training in an accredited program, as well as having at least one year of neuroradiology fellowship training or equivalent experience, as deemed appropriate by the fellowship program.
