The Department of Radiology offers a one-year fellowship in Breast Radiology. Breast imaging services are provided at the St. Margaret's Diagnostic Breast Center, Indiana University Hospital, and Methodist Hospital Breast Center, as well as at other facilities throughout the county. Fellows will receive experience in screening and diagnostic mammography, diagnostic ultrasound and the full range of breast interventional procedures. Fellows learn digital interpretation skills, using both Hologic and GE workstations, while MRI interpretation skills are learned using CADstream. Additional experience and research opportunities will be available in MR imaging and MR-guided breast interventions.
Our equipment includes: Six digital mammography units on campus, three dedicated breast ultrasound units, a mobile mammography unit to reach the underserved; 2 prone stereotactic biopsy tables with Suros vacuum assisted biopsy consoles; 1.5T GE and Siemens MR with breast biopsy coils; 3.0T Siemens MR with breast biopsy coil.
Breast imaging fellows are assigned clinical duties at both St. Margaret's and University Hospital. They are expected to participate in multi-disciplinary breast conferences and are required to participate in and complete a breast imaging research project during the fellowship year.
We currently have NO openings for this fellowship in 2010.
