Okay so we know it's been called "India-noplace". Well if it's so out-of-the-loop how come about 1 million people live in the Indianapolis metropolitan area? One of biggest challenges is convincing people from outside Indiana that Indianapolis is one of the country's major cities with lots to do and keep you busy and entertained.

Each person has special interests and needs. Finding a suitable community to live in is a highly personal decision and there is no way that all concerns could be anticipated and addressed without a personal interview and a visit to this city. Here are some selected observations and comments from people who moved to Indianapolis from other areas.

"It is the biggest small town in America. It has everything you need and yet it's comfortable and safe to walk around downtown. And I've only been in a traffic jam a handful of times in almost a decade."

"Everything is so convenient. It's easy to get around the city. The airport is so close. I can land at Indy International and be walking into my home in about a half-hour."

"Look what's here: the Indianapolis Zoo and White River Botanical Gardens, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, a world-class attraction, the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Indians, the Eiteljorg Museum of Indians and Western Art, the Indianapoils Speedway Motor Speedway Museum, the Indianapolis Musuem of Art. There's the canal walk downtown. Conner Prairie Settlement north of Indianapolis, as well as horse-racing at Hoosier Park in Anderson. Of course, there's the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, host to the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400. And in 2000 the first US Grand Prix Formula I race was held at the Speedway. So many movie theatres to choose from including specialty theatres. The Indianapolis Symphony (an incredible bargain for IU staff and faculty). The IMAX theatre. The Madame Walker Theatre. Go-cart racing. Drag-racing. Brown County forest is near-by (south of Indianapolis). And don't forget the Indiana State Fair with its tractor pulls and midway. Comedy clubs in Broad Ripple. The Vogue theatre in Broad Ripple. We've heard that there are more public (inexpensive) golf courses in Indianapolis than in any other U.S. city. The RCA Tennis Tournament. All the amateur sports...(Men's NCAA Final Four 3 times within a decade). Verizon Wireless Music Center. Can we quit now?"

"This Midwest city has undergone a transformation nothing short of astonishing. The number of new attractions alone is worth the trip." --Travel Holiday
