INGEN Reduced
Imaging Fee
Program
The Indiana Center of Excellence in Biomedical Imaging (IN-CEBI) has a new program available to provide discounted imaging fees for genomics related research. As a result of funding and resources provided by INGEN, the IN-CEBI will offer a discount on technical fees associated with imaging studies performed in the IN-CEBI. The value of these discounted fees will total to approximately $1.3M over a period of 3 years. These resources will be allocated to individual investigators on the basis of the scientific merit of the proposed research project and the likelihood that the pilot project will produce sufficient preliminary data for the development of strong extramural grant applications. This discounted rate will not be applicable for imaging studies that are funded through alternative extramural funding sources. In order to be eligible for this discount, investigators will be required to demonstrate the relevance of their research project to the INGEN initiative. Current and future imaging modalities supported by the IN-CEBI include Positron Emission Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, X-Ray Computed Tomography, and Whole Body Optical Fluorescence Imaging. The available imaging modalities in the IN-CEBI can provide information about anatomical structure of tissues and organs, protein and enzyme expression, biochemical interactions, and the rates of physiological processes. Please see our website at http://www.in-cebi.net or contact the Director’s Office at (317) 278-3167 to learn more about what role biomedical imaging could play in enhancing research initiatives in your scientific area of study.
Any research investigator
from any Indiana University campus whose focus is related to Genomics is
eligible to apply for these funds.
Students who are in training (undergraduate student, graduate student,
medical student, post-doctoral fellow, resident, medical fellow) are not
eligible to serve as the Principal Investigator of these proposals.
These funds are not meant to replace other existing mechanisms for funding that currently exist, rather they are meant to supplement the researcher with existing funds that may see a role for biomedical imaging in his/her current scope of study. Funds will be awarded as an 80% discount on technical imaging fees. 20% of the technical fee must be paid through other means by the investigator.
Proposals will be reviewed and given priority scores.
Please use the electronic form ( INCEBI Pilot Study Application ) to prepare and submit your proposal electronically at info@in-cebi.net. Proposals are to be submitted electronically by 5 pm on the submission deadline. Awards will cover a period of 12 months. An exemption to the 12-month budget period may be requested with an accompanying justification. Submissions do not need to be routed through Indiana University Research and Sponsored Programs or the Indiana University School of Medicine Dean’s Office.
