Varian 9.4T MRI
Vertical Bore
The Varian 9.4T/89 mm actively shielded vertical bore system is suitable for MR spectroscopy and micro-imaging of isolated perfused organs, perfused cells, and high-resolution spectroscopy of tissue extracts and biological compounds. It also allows some in vivo rat and mice experiments. The system is equipped with a 55 mm inner diameter gradient set capable of generating 125 G/cm for micro-imaging and gradient-enhanced spectroscopy. This system also has a state-of-the-art Varian Unity Inova console, which allows multi-nuclear investigations and easy implementation of sophisticated MR techniques. Three commercial broadband probes (5, 10, and 20 mm inner diameter) with proton decoupling, deuterium-lock and variable temperature capabilities are available for high-resolution spectroscopy experiments. A dual-tuned H-23Na micro imaging and a number of other single- and dual-tuned volume and surface coils are available for isolated perfuse organ and intact animal studies. All the MR pulse sequences that are available on the horizontal bore system are also available on the verical bore system.
