This approach involves the interventional radiologist ensuring a pain free procedure by numbing up the affected area. A very tiny incision is made along the path of the varicose vein and the troubled vein is then gently removed. Both of these procedures are much more cost effective than surgery and the patient almost always returns to normal activties immediately following the procedure.
