 Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty Minimize

Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are medical procedures bringing help to those suffering from back pain. Much of the suffering is the result of osteoporosis which can lead to the compression of the vertebrae. Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are non-surgical interventional techniques that can provide immediate pain relief or frequently ease the suffering within just 48 hours. Both procedures are less invasive and costly than surgery and recovery time is significantly decreased. An interventional radiologist will put the patient under conscious sedation and insert a very thin needle into the patient's back. A cement material is injected into the affected area of the spine. After about 15 minutes, the material hardens into a cast-like hardness, stabilizing the vertebrae and giving the spine new strength.
