 Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Minimize

Radiofrequency ablation, also known as RFA, is a treatment for cancer performed by interventional radiologists that aggressively attacks the tumor while avoiding the healthy tissue. The radiologist uses CT and ultrasound to detect the tumor and then targets high frequency electrical currents that create the heat that destroys the abnormal cancerous cells. This procedure has been proven to be very effective in not only slowing the progress of the cancer but can actually kill the tumor and thereby eliminating it from the body. This approach is very well tolerated by patients, usually with very little pain or serious side effects.

The treatment of cancer is a team effort between physician and patient. The interventional radiologists at Indiana Radiology Partners are experienced and are well known for their care and therapy. IRP specialists are readily available and can provide expert diagnosis and a plan of treatment specific for the patient's well-being and improved health.
