 Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telanglectasia (HHT) Minimize

Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) results when blood moves at high pressure from the arteries into the thinner, less elastic veins. This pressure on the veins may result in frequent episodes of severe bleeding. Nosebleeds are very common for people sufferring from HHT and if the area affected is the brain or lungs, grave problems could develop. For serious cases of HHT, interventional radiologists can treat the affected area by embolizing (closing off) the blood vessels that are bleeding. Embolization uses small tubes to deliver tiny coils that prevent the flow of blood.
